How I Got into Journalism

Mace and Crown’s “Fall 2021” Magazine Issue
One of the biggest accomplishments during my editorship would be curating and executing this magazine for the fall semester. I wanted this magazine to give readers a taste of the ODU community. Since coming back on-campus, it has been a drastic change for students, the idea of having vivaciousness and hope for students was crucial for me and the team.
I would have to give my gratitude to my creative team—graphic designers, photographers, and the social media editor for making the visuals of this possible.
HerCampus Chapter at ODU
HerCampus is an online magazine written by collegiate women for other collegiate women. This online magazine has over 400 campus chapters internationally. HerCampus aims to empower young females with content-based writing such as collegiate life, finances, health, fashion, and more.
HerCampus Chapter at Old Dominion University was founded in early 2017. I first started as a staff writer, then their social media coordinator.
Around early to late 2021, I became HerCampus at ODU as the Senior Editor/Columnist. I developed an exclusive column called, “The Senior Carta.”
